Somerset Levels

A thirty-hour flying visit to family in Somerset. Fascinating afternoon at Tyntesfield yesterday (hope to process the dozens of pictures soon) and then, today, a chilly exploration of The Levels, where we were shown the reintroduced cranes; they are being fed so gather in some numbers.

You too can play Spot The Cranes:

Zooming in there were around thirty youngsters in the vicinity:

After that we climbed Burrow Mump in an attempt to warm-up:

We didn’t, so we adjourned for fish pie, chips and ale at the King Alfred Inn, Burrowbridge (excellent value – and their chips are splendid).
